PAISLEY is an ornamental textile design using the boteh (Persian: بته) or buta, a teardrop-shaped motif with a curved upper end. Of Persian origin, paisley designs became popular in the West in the 18th and 19th centuries, following imports of post–Mughal Empire versions of the design from India, especially in the form of Kashmir shawls, and were then replicated locally.
The timeless charm of MAJOLICA from Caltagirone: hand-painted ceramic items, characterized by baroque and floral patterns that stand out against pure white enamel or deep sea-blue tones. The very same designs adorn the brand’s dresses and accessories, in a harmonious polychromy that succeeds in doing justice to the luxurious beauty of the Mediterranean.
